Bologna is incredible. Bologna is our favourite Italian city. Bologna has the people, the food, the way of life, the architecture. It’s going to take some time to do justice to these qualities, so consider this part of the blog a work-in-progress. Here’s some photographs to whet your appetite – check in as we add the words…

The MAMBo (Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna) housed a superb Giorgio Morandi exhibition. Beautifully understated.

A permanent collection with some fantastic representatives of the Arte Povera movement.

As well as some good old radicals.

There’s a nice programme that gives local artists billboard spaces on walls around town.

The canals used to run through Bologna, but now they have been built over. There are but two glimpses of the water remaining…and we stumbled across one. Surely warrants a snap…
